Kai's First Christmas

Sweet, little Kai is growing like a weed and changes daily! At his four month appointment he weighed 12lbs 6oz and was 25 inches long. He's still pretty skinny but he's long for his age and, like Cora, he is growing perfectly on his little growth chart and is healthy and strong.

Kai's new tricks include rolling (he prefers rolling from back to front), grabbing everything he can, squawking, blowing bubbles, hanging out in his jungle, laughing and almost always smiling. He is still up at least once a night (and is still sleeping next to us) but he usually goes to bed quickly after he eats, thank goodness. He's been acting like he wants to eat when we do so we started giving him his first solid food of rice cereal/breast milk goop, which he likes quite a bit. We will start introducing avocado and sweet potatoes in the next couple of weeks. Let the messy, chaotic baby eating stage commence!

Kai went on his first twelve hour road trip to Idaho for Christmas and he did awesome in the car. I think he knew that Idaho is an incredible place and he was on his best behavior! Christmas in Idaho at Pooh Bah and Buddy's was a winter wonderland - we sledded, played in the snow, skied, snowshoed, ate delicious meals and had a wonderful time with family and friends. Best of all, Nana and Papa and Aunt Marisa and Uncle Mike were able to make the journey and join us as well! We couldn't have asked for a better first Christmas for Kai!

Here are a few photos from this past month. Enjoy!

Family pile! Who needs furniture?

Little bear!

Magical dual nap! (Kai's face got scratched by his fingernails here, FYI)

Kai's first ski tour! It was short and cold.

Kai and I hung out in the car while Cora and Nat skied together longer.

Cheeks!!

Ski lodge rug rats! (On the weekends Nat and I take turns between skiing laps and hanging out in the lodge/playing in the snow with the kids.)

Kai hangs out on me for our adventures quite often.

Super dad.
